Linear Reflections (A Glint) 2023
bronze
3.6m
part of Resonant Grounds: Site Specific Art in Point Pleasant Park, April 20 - May 25
To emphasize the linear rhythms that occur in this landscape, I embedded a bronze form in a crevice of this rock formation. By returning the bronze to the setting of ore, the negative space is filled with a cast of itself. Where the form lifts slightly, it is hinted that there is still an untouched space below. A glint of polished bronze is visible from numerous angles to lure people to the unexpected material and texture. The bronze itself acts as a mirror, relying on the presence of the viewer and its surrounding landscape to complete the installation.
